Situated just above Mumbles in Newton Village this lovingly restored converted barn sleeps up to six people and comprises 2 separate parts with an interconnecting door. An excellent location for accessing the Gower Peninsula.
Dating back to the thirteenth century, Owen's Barn is believed to be the oldest building in Newton where the celebrated preacher the Rev John Wesley is said to have given sermons whilst waiting for his new church to be finished, and more recently, where Dylan Thomas is said to have played as a small boy. In 2006 Owen's Barn won the Gower Society Design Award for its sympathetic restoration and clever refurbishment.
The property is within close proximity of Mumbles and conveniently placed for accessing Gower. There are two pubs serving pub fayre and a convenience store within easy walking distance.
The barn has been converted, and is divided into two separate properties, which have an interconnecting door. The larger property sleeps up to four people and has two bedrooms and a galleried sleeping area, whilst the smaller barn (the annexe) has a galleried double bedroom over the living area, with a bed sofa on the ground floor, and sleeps 2 people. The properties are available as a single unit or individually as required.
There are low beams throughout the first floor that help to retain the character of each property but may not suit some guests.
